Budtender

what is a budtender

Definition

Many of you have probably heard about budtenders, but what exactly is a budtender?

Budtenders take on different roles depending on which country they're in. A budtender in Amsterdam has a slightly different function to one in the US. Essentially, however, a budtender is the person who works behind the counter in a coffee shop or in a dispensary. Just think of them as the barista of weed.

The reason that budtenders are so helpful and so useful lies in the fact that marijuana is arguably the most complicated medicine in the world. With 2229 strains (at the moment) to choose from and hundreds of different effects, it's important to know that what you're smoking is what will help your ailment. That is where budtenders come in. If you want to help your sore back, they will point you in the right direction. If you want to help your depression, they'll know just the ticket.

Budtenders are masters of their crafts and if they're good ones, they should know all of their stock inside and out. Although owing to the massive amounts of strains, we can forgive them if they don't know what EVERY strain does.
